WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS A NEW CHAMBER MEMBER
Once your membership has been set up, two emails will be sent to each individual listed on your application. The first contains instructions for creating login credentials to register for events and accessing the Member Information Center. The second email contains general Chamber information and outlines the scope of access they have for using the Member Information Center.
The Primary member will be contacted by the Ambassador committee within a month to schedule a meeting to deliver a new member packet and discuss any questions the member may have.
Each member representative will begin receiving newsletters by email. See Constant Contact and Newsletters below for important information.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS
Member Information Center. This component of ChamberMaster allows each member access to update their personal and organizational information, post marketing opportunities, pay invoices, register for events, communicate with other members and more. Each member is assigned login credentials as they are added to the Chamber database. Access to the MIC is through Member Login on the Chamber website. Your member login also allows you to do the following:
- Updating business and personal profile information
- Adding categories to your business directory listing
- Advertising with Hot Deals and Member to Member Offers
- Posting current job openings
- Paying invoices online with a credit card
- Viewing recent new members and updates to other businesses
- Monitoring Internet hits on your marketing offers and business directory listing
Constant Contact. The Chamber uses Constant Contact for emailing newsletters and event invitations. Some internet providers and company servers block information coming from mass emailing companies such as Constant Contact. If you do not begin receiving newsletters as indicated in the Newsletters section below, please check your spam folder and designate our emails as safe. If you don’t see our emails in your Spam/Junk folder, please contact your IT Dept and ask if they will allow our domain to be accepted for delivery: fusedsm.org. And finally, contact the Chamber office with the results and we will work out a solution.
Categories. Please login to the Member Information Center and designate all categories relevant to your business. These categories will determine how your business is found in search results on our online Business Directory and My Chamber App. View a list of categories available.
Greater Des Moines Partnership. As a Chamber member, you are also a member of the Greater Des Moines Partnership. Your business information will appear in their online directory. You can find more information about The Partnership here, or review their website to see how you might take advantage of their services.
